About
Serene Parker started her vocal coaching business, Serene Vocal Studio (SVS) in 2016. Since then, Serene has taught private and group lessons in a full studio. Serene teaches a variety of singing styles but her favorites are pop and musical theater.
A highlight for students at SVS is the opportunity to record in a professional studio at Lerud Media Productions. Each spring students prepare their pieces so they can create a technically healthy and magical sound in the recording studio. Serene uploads students' recordings on her Youtube Channel, Serene Vocal Studio, which has over 40K subscribers. Serene’s students take weekly lessons as well as participate in master classes throughout the year. Her students have taken leading roles in local theater productions, middle school and high school theater and choral productions.
Studying acting at the renowned Actors in Action Conservatory has enriched Serene's approach as a vocal instructor by incorporating the art of performance into every lesson. Serene draws upon her comprehensive training in acting to help students not just sing beautifully, but also convey emotions, tell stories, and connect with their audiences on a deeper level. This holistic approach transforms students into captivating performers, seamlessly blending vocal technique with dynamic stage presence. Through personalized coaching, Serene empowers students to find their unique voice and shine both in the studio and on stage.
Serene created The Vocal Book curriculum which helps students progress in their singing, ear training, music reading and performance skills. Currently working toward her accreditation through the International Voice Teachers of Mix (IVTOM), Serene sees value in continuous learning as a teacher and performer. Serene has recorded 7 albums, single covers, and enjoys being in the recording studio.
Serene has participated in a variety of theatrical performances. Some of her theater stage credits include: Anastasia (Countess Lily, Timpanogos Arts), Amadeus (Constanze, Regalo Theater), Anastasia (Countess Lily, Empress Theater), Pirates of Penzance (Mabel, Emerson Smith Media), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Martha, St. George Musical Theater), Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Rhoda, Regalo Theater), Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Murray Arts), Beauty and the Beast (St. George Musical Theater), and Sweeney Todd (Timpanogos Arts).
Serene sang with Vox Humana Chorale Ensemble, Lux Singers, Colorado Saints Chorale and co-directed Bella Notte Women’s Chorus.
